Devil's Tower, WY

We visited Devil's Tower on a perfect summer day. While walking the circumferance of the Tower, a juxtaposition of values and uses was observed. Hikers dotted the path, frequently stopping to observe climbers—small specks on vertical walls—or to soak in the tranquility of the moment. Occasional cloth remnants were reminders that the site is sacred to Native Americans. The rustle of birds and squirrels reminded us that we were visitors in their home.
