After the Storm

Originally, my intention in writing  Invisible Currents was to produce a book with five sections (spring, summer, autumn, winter, and after the storm). It didn't turn out that way. The final product lacked the fifth section, perhaps the most important one of all. Hurricanes and typhoons are reminders, once again, that storms (both physical and emotional) can cause lasting changes within ourselves and our communties. I wonder what storm caused teens in Palo Alto to step in front of trains, and what effect that storm (which then created a storm of its own) is having on the life of the community, and does a storm like that ever really dissipate?
