Great Falls MD trail map

I drew this rough map many years ago, about the time the current walkover to Great Falls Outlook on the Maryland side was completed. Much of the towpath in this area is in good shape and easy to walk. An exception may be a short stretch around Lock 16.

With every big storm, there are changes in the Canal bed and the towpath, so be prepared for surpises throughout the years.
